How about in ancient Greek philosophy? Stoicism, Epicureanism, and Platonism were the most popular, and they were moral realists. Only unpopular philosophies such as Pyrrhonism, Cyrenaicism, and Protagoreanism were relativist.

Not representative? Sure, because they only represent the few people who ascribed to articulated views on the matter, but how do you know what most people thought?

I don't, and neither does anyone else. But if someone wants to claim most people were moral realists, they're welcome to present evidence for this. In the absence of such evidence I don't see any good reason to just assume they were.
